The last month and a half has been crazy, so crazy that I haven’t had time to post this news: I am once again a New Yorker. Unfortunately, that means I had to disband my wonderful band in New Orleans. I was really enjoying playing with those guys again, and it’s a shame that we won’t be able to see what sort of potential we could have reached together. Things are happening much differently than I anticipated. That’s life, I guess. Once I feel settled in here, I’ll come up with a course of action for the Big Apple.

Here’s a video from the Carrollton Station show last weekend. We’ve pepped up “Welcome Mat” some, breaking away from the acoustic version that can be heard on “Public School, Fast Food and Blue Jeans.”
Big thanks for everyone who came out to the Carrollton Station show on Saturday night. Here are some photos from the gig, taken by Kristy May. (If you roll over the photo with your mouse, some navigation arrows will appear.)
It’s been a long time (way too long!) since I’ve played a full-band show. 2004, to be exact. I’m excited to announce the wait is over.
The Ryan Chatelain Band is playing Saturday, May 22nd at Carrollton Station in New Orleans. The night gets started at 8 p.m. 9 p.m. with the acoustic trio of Caleb Guillote, Elisabeth Gill and Romy Kaye. (You may know Caleb best as the former frontman of Deadeye Dick.)
It’s going to be a great time. I hope to see you there. Sign up for the e-mail list if you’d like a reminder.
First of all, a big thank you goes out to those who braved the monsoon and made it out to the Neutral Ground Coffeehouse on Friday night. You all are gamers!
I’ve decided that since I’ve reinvented this Web site, I want to, at least somewhat regularly, share with you some live recordings, new music, an occasional video. Maybe it will be something from a recent show; maybe it will be something from five years ago.
Anyway, here is a recording of a newer song called “Crazy,” as performed Friday at the Neutral Ground.
